Lighting With Colour: Evans Brown & Jeremy Benning csc

CSC Seminar on Lighting with Colour, held in Toronto at William F. Whites, Sept 14th, 2019.

Modern Lighting meets creative consciousness within the rapid pace of modern day filmmaking. Evans and Jeremy lead this deep dive into the practicalities of the colour of light, how to achieve a look for a show through a Complimentary Color Lighting approach and how this translate on screen. This seminar will cover how Evans and Jeremy approached the series “Condor” and the practical experience from mixing lighting sources, in-camera colour filtration, shifting the spectral curve of the camera sensor, and folding this all into the LUT and On Set Grade.

Also an introduction and explanation of the Quasar Science Rainbow product line and the RGBX color control technology.

The discussion explores:

How the Rainbow products can help benefit a user in not only grading on set but also how the color mixing of light effects your live grade potential.

“Jurassic Park” Screening Q+A with DOP Dean Cundey, csc asc

This is the entire Q&A following the 35-mm print screening of Steven Spielberg’s “Jurassic Park” on 13 Apr 2019 at TIFF Bell Lightbox in Toronto . Its cinematographer Dean Cundey asc csc flew in from LA to be our special guest. It was moderated by Arthur Cooper csc. Also thanks to Marcus Valentin and Alex D’Avolio at Sim Post for assembling this edit, and Andrew M. Richardson for coordinating the video capture of the event.
